On this website the authors have published a substantial part (probably about half of it) of the theory presented in the "Handbook Biological Wastewater Treatment - Design and optimisation of activated sludge systems". No tricks here...we do not try to to lure you into buying our book by presenting all kinds of interesting stuff and then leave out the critical bits ! nstead, we have made a selection and decided to publish the "core" of the Handbook, which will allow you to design activated sludge systems for nitrogen- and phosphorus removal, including the main auxiliary units final settler, sludge digesters and sludge thickeners. We even threw in a few detailed design examples and some online Excel examples for free to help you get started !! What is not published: well, for instance chemical phosphorus removal, integrated anaerobic - aerobic treatment, the latest developments on Membrane Bioreactors and nitrogen removal systems such as Sharon and Anammox. If you want to know more about the contents of the book and what is / is not presented on the website, click here for the Contents in Brief. What's in it for us, you might ask ? Well, apart from eternal glory we hope that some of you actually consider the Handbook a valuable addition for your personal wastewater treatment engineering library and buy the Handbook. It is a beautiful 560 pages hardcover edition, packed with information. The front page of this beautiful hardcover edition is displayed to the right. |

Even if you decide not to buy it, well....no hard feelings, we hope you use the design theory presented, as we truly feel that it will raise the level of the wastewater treatment design practice. Do you want to know more about the handbook ? Click here !! Furthermore our backcover will tell you in no more than 300 words (287 to be precise) what the handbook is all about. We hope you find the theory usefull in your daily work or study. If you have questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact us. |
