Design Services

Perhaps you do not want to go through the hassle of preparing you own wastewater treatment plant design. Or you do not feel confident about a design that has been provided to you by an outside service company. Together with our partners we are able to supply you with a range of services, for instance:

  • System selection: this step is crucial but sometimes overlooked as suppliers are anxious to sell their own "solutions". In this step we would first compose an overview of the different streams of wastewater produced and their characteristics. Depending on the situation, reuse options could be investigated. The most applicable wastewater treatment plant configurations are compared. Based on the specific advantages and disadvantages of each wastewater treatment plant configuration, you will receive our recommendation for system design
  • Design reviews / second opinion: this service would entail a critical review of an existing design. The focus would be at the balancing of wastewater load en treatment capacity, for instance buffer tank philosophy, sizing of the final settler, etc.
  • Basic design: the end product of this phase is a package that can be handed over to the contractor. This package typically contains at least the following deliverables: process flow diagrams including main control loops, mass balances, process description, sized equipment list, process control description, indicative plot plan, +/- 50% cost estimate. Depending on the complexicity of the design the next phase would be basic / detail engineering or direct procurement/construction.
  • Basic design and engineering: as above, with typical additional deliverables such as P&ID's, data sheets/specifications of the main equipment and instrumentation, plot plan, material take-off, civil drawings, key-one line diagrams, electrical consumers list, +/- 20 to 30 % cost estimate
  • Procurement and construction management
  • Consultancy and troubleshooting
